Counseling is often called "relational" or "interpersonal." Just as a headache may stem from a problem in the neck or shoulders, a psychological symptom (such as depression or anxiety) may have its roots in relational issues. As a therapist, my initial focus is symptom relief (lessening the blues or panic, for example, just as you would lessen the pain of the headache). We will also talk about the relationships in your life, both past and present. As our work continues, we will form an alliance that allows us to look beyond your symptoms to create lasting change. |

Explore your inner world. Expand your inner resources. I guide clients to their innate joy and authenticity so their lives and relationships are fulfilling and enriched. I work collaboratively with you the client using traditional talk therapy, expressive arts (sand tray), and body awareness (mindfulness and Hakomi). My approach intuitively incorporates ideas from present-centered, somatic, psychodynamic, Jungian, and mythological psychology. I pay attention to the archetypal images and stories that arise with a client. These images add a layer of visual and metaphoric information to rational problem-solving. My style as a therapist is calm, grounded, and compassionate. I use deep listening, unconditional positive regard, and thoughtful feedback to work with clients to find their own answers within. I work with children and adults. |

Imagine for a moment that therapy is a journey of discovery through the landscape of your life and that I am a blind man walking by your side. As we move through this landscape, we talk and you describe to me the rise and fall of the terrain, the beings met along the way, the struggles of the climb and the joys of the summit. Through your words, I learn to view the world through your eyes and to appreciate the forces that have formed your personal landscape. After listening carefully and without judgment, I describe the image your words have formed in my mind. Through this process of dialogue and reflection, we both come to see the challenges and the opportunities presented by your unique landscape with fresh eyes. |

I offer a warm, collaborative approach to therapy and will support you in the discovery of your unique wisdom to resolve challenges. I will assist you in moving beyond the patterns that keep you stuck, that result in relationship difficulties, low self esteem, anxiety, etc., and help you find more satisfaction and enjoyment in your life. | I work with a unique blend of traditional psychotherapy and a felt sense approach. My specialty is in the renegotiation and the resolution of overwhelming traumatic experience that happened “too fast, too much, too soon”. With the somatic experiencing method I guide my clients into self-regulating the emotions that have become unmanageable and the nervous system that has been shocked. I am ready to explore how difficult events manifest in the body and I am committed to restore optimal functioning with my clients. I am eager to work with the full spectrum of life issues that occur at all ages. |

I work from an integrative model that incorporates strengths-based, solution-focused and behavioral approaches among many others. Because our stories, experiences and cultural backgrounds are inherently complex and highly individual, I closely tailor my style depending on what is most relevant for your situation and needs. I look forward to helping you unearth your inner resilience. |

You can create the life you want to live by finding the joy in relationships and finding the answers within yourself. I will provide a space in which this is possible. I work with adults, couples, and children. |
